2800 Series Routers
Used Cisco 2800 Series Routers
There are four models in the Cisco 2800 Series of Routers. The Cisco 2801, 2811, 2821, and 2851 make up the four options a customer can choose from. The CISCO2801 has (2) DSP Slots for PVDM2 Modules, 2 Fast Ethernet Ports, and four slots for HWIC, VWIC, WIC, and VIC Cards. Check the matrix for configurations available. If you're getting a T1 line, the you'll need the second generation T1 WIC Card p/n WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 for any of the Cisco 2800 series routers.
The CISCO2811 also has (2) DSP Slots for Voice PVDM Modules and 2 Fast Ethernet Ports, though it has 4 Cisco HWIC Module Slots and 1 NME Slot. If you're getting a channelized Voice T1 line, then you'll want a VWIC-1MFT-T1 for single line or a VWIC-2MFT-T1 for dual channelized voice T1's.
The CISCO2821 and CISCO2851 both have (3) DSP Slots for Cisco PVDM2 Modules, 2 10/100/1000 GIG Ethernet Ports, 4 HWIC Modules Slots, and 1 NME Slot (the 2851 can accept NME-X or NME-XD).
We often see customers package these 2800 series routers with voice network modules including the NM-HD-2V and Voice Interface Cards like the VIC2-4FXO for Voice Over IP (VOIP) Solutions. Another popular add-on is the NM-16ESW, which adds (16) 10/100 Fast Ethernet Ports and the NM-16ESW-PWR which has Power Over Ethernet (POE) for the 16 Ports. If you need the router to have two additional WIC slots for expansion, then you'll need the NM-2W. If you're getting a T3 line for 45 Mbps of throughput, you'll be looking at the NM-1T/E3. You'll find many of the available Cisco Network Modules here at our store as well. If you can't find it in our store, just give us a call.
